The Byler Story

Ben & Grace Byler, the children of Bob & Jan Byler

St. Joseph County Fair

Ben and Grace Byler showed their animals at the St. Joseph County Fair in Centreville Michigan. This was Ben's eighth year in 4-H, and Grace's second year. Ben showed his Dairy Feeder Steer, Turkeys and Pigs. Grace showed her Dairy Feeder Steer, Turkeys, Pigs and Goats. They both did very well at the fair. The highlight of the week was Grace placing 2nd in pig showmanship. Grace has arthrogryposis, which means Grace's muscles are too tight, and Grace walks with crutches to show her pig. Grace was told that she would never walk, yet she has not let that stop her from being determined to show her animals. She was very proud of her accomplishment. Ben also deserves much of the credit as he displays great patience with his sister as he helps her through the summer teaching her how to show her animals. 4-H has been a great learning experience for our children and has taught them responsibility and leadership skills.

American Farm was proud to support Ben and Grace at the St. Joseph County Fair and wish them continued success!
